![]() ![]() Just an update i started to hear an echo of others voices so I tried to redo the mod. You can post here or send me a message on xbl if you want help or need to troubleshoot. Just wanted to post this in case someone else cant wait for the adapter like me. ![]() Everyone else hears me clearly, I hear them clearly, and my house stays quiet. I decided I must have a bad connection so I cut out the speaker connection I made and re-soldered it, now it works just like factory and I can still use the handy mute and volume on the stock Xbox one headset puck (the thing that goes into the controller). I did have the echo problem at first, when someone talked it would echo and sound choppy, but in upload studio (to test since there aren’t voice messages anymore) my voice sounded crystal clear. I used the 360 slim headset and it has the added advantage of using the exact same wire colours. After that I shrink tubed the connections and taped them individually before taping them in one bundle for added protection against the echo some people are getting. Its as easy as cutting off the headset right near the speaker or disassembling the unit (if you disassemble you get the benefit of having the tiny wires already stripped of the coating) and cutting off 2.5mm male plug right under the mute/volume controls of an Xbox 360 headset (or you can use the turtle beach wire itself but I wanted to keep that) and soldering the wires together. It was an okay setup but not the most comfortable.Īfter checking out a few instructables and other tutorials, I went to Canadian tire and bought a $30 soldering iron and got to work. I was getting really annoyed trying to game late at night with my turtle beaches (to not annoy my gf with squeeling tires and the like) and the Xbox one headset around my neck to talk. Has anyone else tried chopping off their brand new (telemarketing) headset for the Xbox one to attach a male 2.5mm plug to use with their turtle beach headset?
